The map shows the most and least expensive places to buy a house in Merseyside

The L4 postcode area is the cheapest place to buy a house in Merseyside.

Houses in the area – which covers Anfield, Kirkdale and Walton – sold for £111,819 each on average in the 12 months to the end of April.
This is according to the ECHO’s exclusive analysis of the latest price paid data from the Land Registry.




The L4 area recorded the lowest median sales price of any postcode area in our region. The L28 postcode area – which covers Stockbridge Village – is next, with an average selling price of £113,146.

This is followed by L2 (Liverpool city centre) with an average of £117,175, although this is based on just 14 sales.

The CH41 postcode area (Birkenhead, Claughton, Seacombe, Tranmere and Woodside) is next with an average of £121,136, then L6 (Anfield, Liverpool City Centre, Everton, Fairfield, Kensington and Tuebrook) with an average of £128,182, L20 ( Bootle, Kirkdale and Orrell) with an average of £128,552 and L5 (Anfield, Everton, Kirkdale and Vauxhall) with an average of £128,655.

At the other end of the scale is the CH60 postcode area – which covers Gayton and Heswall – where houses sold for an average of £437,668 each in the year to the end of April.
