Chris Davies has been appointed manager of the men’s first team at Birmingham City.

Davies has signed a four-year deal and joins the club with immediate effect from Tottenham Hotspur after the two sides agreed compensation.

It comes after Tony Mowbray resigned from the Blues last month to focus on his health.

Davies, 39, has worked at a number of teams including Liverpool, Swansea City and Celtic.

Birmingham City owner and chairman Tom Wagner said: “I am delighted to welcome Chris to the Blues. He is well respected in the game and fulfills our objective of appointing an ambitious and progressive coach.

“He is motivated to help redefine the club, its culture and its playing identity. From our first meeting, it was clear that we were aligned in values ​​and shared ambition for the Blues.
