Rachel Breck Obituary – Salisbury, West Cornwall, Sharon, CT

BRECK, Rachel (Hammond) Rachel (Hammond) Breck died Monday (January 1, 2007) at the age of 98 at Noble Horizons in Salisbury. Cattle breeder and long-time owner of Hedgerows Farms, West Cornwall, she was sometimes referred to as the ‘First Lady of Angus’ and was recently inducted into the Aberdeen Angus Hall of Fame. She is survived by her daughter, Leith Speiden; her grandchildren, Terry McClenahan, Barbara McClenahan-Shepherd, Adam Klauber, Blake Klauber, Rachel Klauber-Speiden; and by her five great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m., at Christ Church Episcopal, 9 South Main St., Sharon. Reception to follow at Chaiwalla Cafe, 1 Main St., Salisbury.
