Fulham enter the race for Summerville

Fulham are the latest club to enter the race for Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville, according to TEAMtalk.

Leeds United are gearing up for another season in the Championship. They didn’t miss out on Southampton in the play-off final last month and now Daniel Farke is once again tasked with getting the Whites back into the top flight this season.

Summerville, 22, has been a key player at Elland Road this season. The versatile winger has made 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring 21 goals and assisting a further ten.

He played briefly in the Premier League when Leeds United were relegated and it seems a return to the top flight could come sooner for the player than for his club.

Newcastle United were linked earlier in the week with a move for the dynamic winger.

Elsewhere, Liverpool and Chelsea were chasing the young Netherlands international. And now Fulham have joined the race to sign him.

A hard fought battle to win

It looks like Leeds United may need to lose some of their star players this summer and at the moment it looks like the 22-year-old striker is one likely to move on.

Struggling against the big clubs of Liverpool and Chelsea was always going to make life difficult for Leeds United, and now another Premier League club in the mix only adds to the difficulties.

Summerville has a bright future ahead of him and is certainly capable of playing top-flight football and as it stands it just seems a case of who he joins and not if or when.

Building for the future

Leeds United have today been linked with a move for the VfB Stuttgart winger, Silas and the DR Congo international could come in for Summerville if it goes through in the next few weeks.

Farke is a safe pair of hands to lead the dressing room for Leeds United. His track record with Norwich City proves he is capable of promotion to the Premier League and despite not dropping last month, he is still a solid option.

It’s going to be a busy summer for Leeds United. As much as they may need to lose players, they will need to sign replacements and it will be interesting to see how they approach their business this summer, especially after the recent investment from Red Bull.
