Spurs react as Davies appoints new Birmingham manager

Tottenham assistant manager Chris Davies has left the club with immediate effect.

He decided to take the permanent manager job at Birmingham City.

The League One club approached Spurs and managed to seal a deal to bring in Davies.

A statement from Tottenham said: “We can announce that Chris Davies, our senior assistant coach, has left the club to take up the role of manager at Birmingham City.

“Formerly with Swansea City, Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester City, Chris joined us last summer as part of Ange Postecoglou’s coaching staff.”

Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou himself said: “Chris is an outstanding individual, he did a fantastic job with us last season and, as I said before, that will attract attention, so it’s no surprise to me that a club of the stature of Birmingham City showed interest in him.

“I’d like to thank Chris for all his hard work and wish him all the best.”
