The Scrambler based on the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 might be launched this festive season

– Launch of the new 650cc Royal Enfield by October

– The Bear 650 is a scrambler based on the Interceptor 650

– The price is likely between Rs 3.20 lakh and Rs 3.40 lakh

Royal Enfield plans to expand its 650cc portfolio with the Scrambler 650 – a bike based on the Interceptor 650. The launch of this bike is likely to happen this festive season.

This Royal Enfield, which is rumored to be branded Bear 650, is likely to be launched between August and October. With this launch, Royal Enfield will have a total of five 650cc motorcycles in this product portfolio in India as well as international markets.

From the spy shots, it’s clear that the Bear 650 will ride on a combination of 19-17-inch spoked wheels. Moreover, the suspension travel at both ends seems to be more than the existing 650cc Royal Enfields. Both revisions should contribute to a higher stance and higher ground clearance, thus making it suitable for off-roading. Moreover, the design of the seat, under-seat panels and both fenders also look new and unique to this bike.

Royal Enfield’s upcoming 650cc scrambler looks more technologically advanced than most of its existing lineup. One of the spy shots reveals a round digital console, which is likely the same unit seen on the new Himalayan 450. This unit is supposed to have features like Bluetooth connectivity and GPS navigation. Even the lighting system looks completely LED, including the indicators.

Royal Enfield will equip the Bear 650 with the same 648cc parallel twin engine that produces 47bhp and 52Nm of peak torque. However, the ratios of the six-speed gearbox could be revised to suit the nature of the bike.

In terms of price, this Royal Enfield is likely to be priced between Rs 3.20 lakh and Rs 3.40 lakh (ex-showroom). With such a price, the Bear 650 will sit below the Super Meteor 650 and also the Shotgun 650.
