Leicester City on alert as second Premier League rivals chase Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Brighton are set to rekindle their interest in Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall once the summer transfer window opens, according to a new report.

Following negotiations, the Foxes managed to keep hold of the 25-year-old in January after the South Coast club saw his £30m price tag as too much for their liking. He went on to finish the season as scorer of 12 goals, provider of 14 and was crowned City’s player of the season as promotion was secured.

However, with the next window of opportunity for clubs to make signings approaching, Leicester may be forced to prepare for further attempts to steal Dewsbury-Hall.

In an article explaining the Seagulls’ consideration of appointing the 31-year-old manager from St. Pauli, Fabian Hurzeler as Roberto De Zerbi’s successor, The Sun claim they will also return to a deal for City’s No.22. This transfer parcel appears not to be connected to whoever is installed as the next manager.

Dewsbury-Hall are said to be likely to demand a bigger fee now that they have completed a stellar campaign in the second tier, although Leicester’s financial situation could play into the buying club’s hands.

This claim comes just a day after it was said that Chelsea would look to sign him as a replacement for Conor Gallagher if he were to leave Stamford Bridge. If losing manager Enzo Maresca to the London club wasn’t bad enough heading into pre-season already, then the Italian would add to his former club’s misery by taking one of their most influential players.
