Michael Mosley’s theories as police investigate This Morning star’s disappearance

ITV This Morning star Dr Michael Mosley has now been missing on the Greek island of Symi for two days. A large-scale search effort involving both tourists and local residents, as well as police, is underway.

Authorities are exploring various possibilities for his disappearance, including fears that the intense heat may have affected him. Another theory being considered by Greek police is that Dr Mosley could have ‘fallen from a height’ while walking along St Nicholas beach.

The mayor of Symi, Eleftherios Papakalodoukas, highlighted the dangers of the route, which is known for its “very high cliffs” and challenging rocky landscape. Symi’s geography is marked by rugged terrain, with a combination of steep cliffs, serene beaches and secluded bays along its coast, some of which are only accessible by boat.

Another line of thought is that Dr. Mosley could have fallen into the sea. According to Mayor Papakalodoukas, firefighters involved in the search believe it is “impossible” for Mr Mosley to be in the area they searched, suggesting he may have taken a different route or succumbed to an accident on the beach, the Express reports.

Speaking to BBC News, he said: “It’s a very small, controlled area full of people. So if something happened to him there, we would have found him by now.” Despite the deployment of various emergency services, including a helicopter and a drone, there is still no sign of him.

Here are the investigated theories.

Mayor Papakalodoukas also suggested that the doctor may be suffering from dehydration due to the intense heat. Without sufficient hydration, the risk of passing out on the challenging terrain would have been significantly higher, the mayor told reporters.
