Coventry’s best chippy, one restaurant comes out on top

Like the weather, Coventry’s favorite chippy never stays the same for long. And mostly because we’re spoiled for choice with great fish and chip shops in and around the city.

Yesterday (Thursday) marked National Fish and Chip Day and many of you had your say on our Facebook page and told us where your go-to place is when it comes to a chippy.

When we did a poll last year, Poseidon Fish Bar came out on top, and while it got a mention this year, it wasn’t among the most popular.

There was a lot of love for Alderman’s Green chippy, Wood End chippy, Charlie’s, Hipswell Fish Saloon, The Wallace Fish Bar, Beech Tree and Deano’s chippy in Cheylesmore.

In Nuneaton, Jim’s Fish Bar also got a lot of mentions.

But it was St George’s Plaice in Canley that came out on top, with loads of people naming the restaurant as their favorite place to get fish and chips.

And it seems reviewers agree, as St George’s Plaice has a 4.6 out of 5 rating on Just Eat and a 4.7 rating on Uber Eats.
