Appeal following burglary in Beaumont Park area of Huddersfield

Friday, June 7, 2024

Huddersfield Police are appealing for information following incidents in Beaumont Park targeting elderly residents in similar circumstances.

In the latest incident, which happened shortly after midnight on Wednesday (June 5), an unknown person entered a property on Moor Park Avenue using a rock to smash a window. An alarm went off and the suspect left the property empty-handed.

This follows a previous offense on April 27 in the Beaumont Park area when a rock was used to smash a window and again an alarm caused the offender to flee without any items being stolen.

The suspect in that incident was described as a white male, approximately 5ft 10in, with light hair.

Both offenses are being investigated by Kirklees District Crime Squad and they are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the Beaumont Park area or anyone who has any other information which could assist ongoing inquiries into these incidents.

Residents are also urged to be vigilant with home security and to be careful, especially around the homes of any vulnerable neighbors.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kirklees DCT via Live Chat online or by calling 101 quoting crime reference 13240300792.
