Pit bull attack on Enfield high street: Young man injured as he tries to pull dogs off woman
Jack was pinched on the hip after he intervened

Jack Thompson, 23, from Enfield, said he came across the woman being attacked and tried to drag one of the dogs away.

A young man told Kfm how his instincts took over when he saw a woman being attacked by two pit bulls on Main Street in Enfield on Wednesday afternoon at around 1.20pm.

Jack Thompson, 23, from Enfield, said he came across the woman being attacked and tried to drag one of the dogs away.

One of the dogs then rounded on him and bit him on the hip.

“I was walking and I heard a woman in distress. She was terrified. People came over and I saw two pitbull dogs attacking her so I guess I just helped pull the dogs away from her. One of them was caught by her. at her clothing and wouldn’t let go,” he said.

He said the incident happened in a parking lot off Main Street.

“I grabbed one of the dogs and it came back and nibbled on my hip. I had to get a tetanus shot and dress the cuts.”

Both Jack and the woman were taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, for treatment.

Kfm understands the woman’s injuries were serious but not life-threatening.

Jack said he didn’t think about it at the time and luckily another man intervened.

“It could have been a lot worse. I’m just glad there were other people around,” he said.
