New B&M store opening in Leicestershire and Rutland

The opening date has been set for B&M’s newest store in Leicestershire and Rutland. The news resolves the fate of the empty unit he eventually takes over.

The discount chain will set up shop in Oakham’s Westgate Street later this month in what is the latest store to open from B&M. The brand takes over the former Wilko store, which closed last year after the Leicester-founded firm collapsed into administration.

Work is now underway to prepare the new B&M store ahead of its opening. It is not clear how many jobs the new store will create.

B&M says many of its usual services will be provided in its new store, including paint for its DIY range. Alcohol and cigarettes will also be sold in the new store.

The opening date for the new store has been set, with B&M urging people to prepare for the store on Saturday, June 22. An exact opening time has not yet been announced.
