Candidates for the 2024 Meriden and Solihull East General Election

Meriden and Solihull East is a new constituency after boundary changes – and polls are predicting a bloody battle. Meriden was a clear win for the Conservatives last round, but there has been a change in the electoral map.

There is also a very different landscape now. Saqib Bhatti almost thrice voted for the next competitor, from Labour, last round.

However, that was in 2019, when the Tories had an 80-seat majority. Polls for the 2024 general elections predict a tougher scenario for Rishi Sunak.

But the news could be better in Meriden and Solihull East if the Electoral Calculus is to be believed. A slim win is projected for the Tories here.

The constituency includes Bickenhill, Chelmsley Wood, Dorridge and Hockley Heath, Elmdon, Kingshurst and Fordbridge, Knowle, Meriden and Silhill.

Who lives in Meriden and Solihull East?
