Leicester City announce two renewals, three releases ahead of Premier League return

Leicester City announce that two players have agreed new contracts at the King Power Stadium, as well as confirming that three players will be leaving the club.

Leicester City they announced that Jamie Vardy is one of two players to have agreed new contracts at the King Power Stadium.

The club legend, now 37, scored 18 goals in 35 appearances as the Foxes won the Championship title at the first attempt since relegation from the Premier League.

Vestergaard joins Vardy to stay at Leicester

Another key player in his form Jannik Vestergaard also agreed a further year at Leicester, with the centre-back signing a new three-year deal.

The 31-year-old made 42 appearances in the second tier last season, with two goals, and his physical presence at the back should continue to be an asset in the top flight.

Vestergaard, a Denmark international, told the club’s official website: “With football and my situation developing in a positive way, I’m just very happy to be here.

“It’s something that also fills me with a kind of pride that I went through the lowest and kept working. I came out on the other side and showed a little bit more of what I can contribute.”
