Four derelict Bristol properties up for auction in need of some TLC

An abandoned farm and an empty cabin are among the derelict properties that could be yours when they go under the hammer. With homes on the housing market getting more and more expensive, people are starting to turn to auctions to find their next home.

Properties can be put up for auction for a number of reasons and can often be found in different states. The more attractive properties are not necessarily the five-bedroom houses with modern features, but those that are in a state of disrepair and are just looking for a new owner keen to revive the house.

Maggs & Allen has listed a number of properties up for auction. Interested buyers can make an offer before the auction or register to bid during the live auction. These properties are due to appear in their online auction on June 27 at 6:00 p.m., where bidders can submit bids online, by phone or by proxy.

Berwick Farm, Hallen

Bidders have the “extremely rare opportunity” to purchase a level building plot in the South Gloucestershire village of Hallen. Some bidders may be put off by the derelict state of the property, the large ‘keep out’ sign and the condition of the grounds, but the dilapidated farmhouse is destined for demolition.

Full planning consent has been granted for the construction of a four bedroom detached farmhouse style home of approximately 303m². Set in an idyllic country setting, surrounded by fields and farm buildings, the auctioneers say this “is an opportunity for builders, developers and self-builders to create a unique family home in this location”. The guide price of the auction is £365,000. You can find out more information through this link.

Down Road, Portishead

A rundown bungalow in Portishead offers “huge potential to transition into a stunning family home or profitable investment”. The large detached bungalow is in a ‘highly desirable area’ and offers bidders the chance to own a home in the picturesque town of Portishead.
