Roy Keane unleashes savage four-word response after Wayne Rooney’s surprise admission, he didn’t hold back

Manchester United legend Roy Keane didn’t miss the mark after his brutal response to Wayne Rooney admitting he only read one book.

Roy Keane was well known for his no-nonsense approach on and off the pitch during his legendary Manchester United career.

After his spell in coaching and management, the 52-year-old Manchester United legend has become a leading pundit for Sky Sports.

Keane has retained his demeanor from his playing career while a pundit, but the former United star has also shown another side to him outside the camera.

The Irishman is regarded as one of the best captains in Premier League history, along with one of the best midfielders in the history of the sport.

Keane excelled as United captain after inheriting the armband in 1997 and led the Red Devils to their iconic treble in 1998-99.

During his time under iconic former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, Keane won seven Premier League titles, two Champions Leagues and four FA Cups.

However, Keane’s spell at Old Trafford came to an abrupt end in 2005 after his relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson fractured and he was axed from the club.

Keane on the admission of Rooney’s book

Wayne Rooney previously revealed he has become a mainstay on The Overlap’s Stick to Football show following his previous appearances on the podcast.

The 38-year-old Manchester United legend recently returned to football management after becoming head coach of Plymouth Argyle.

Rooney, who turned pundit after being sacked by Birmingham City in January, is back for the latest episode of Stick to Football.

During the episode of Stick to Football, the former United and England striker revealed that he has only read one book in his life.

“The only book I’ve ever read, seriously, is Carra’s,” Rooney admitted.

Responding to Rooney, Gary Neville said: “I thought you were going to tell me my autobiography. Have you read Carra’s book? Why?”

Roy Keane didn’t miss an opportunity to take a swipe at Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, who was absent from the episode of Stick to Football.

“To help him sleep,” he said in response to Rooney’s admission.

Keane left the likes of Gary Neville, Ian Wright and Rooney with his answer before the United legend opened up about his own reading habits.

“Books, it depends (on) what mood I’m in to read books,” he said.

“But if I like a book, I don’t put it down.”

Rooney baffled Keane with another admission

Keane was left speechless after Rooney bizarrely admitted he was going to take a nap while a hairdryer blew in his face.

Rooney revealed that his habit of sleeping with a hairdryer even caused him to miss his first meeting with the England team.

“I did that a few times when I fell asleep,” he said.

“I like to sleep in the afternoon and when I sleep I have the hair dryer in front of me.

“Which sometimes cancels the alarm and I sleep. I still sleep like that now.”
