Four events you need to check out in South Simcoe this weekend

Bike rodeo, book sale, art exhibit and live jazz all on tap for the next few days, the editor writes

Whether you’re looking to enjoy top-notch jazz or seek out the next amazing piece of art, South Simcoe events have you covered this weekend.

There will be plenty to do in Bradford and Innisfil on Saturday and Sunday. Here’s what’s planned for the next few days:

Bike Safety Rodeo

All elementary school students are invited to this free event at Alcona Glen Elementary School (1310 Innisfil Beach Rd.) on Saturday, June 8th from 9:30am to 11am. Young riders can have their bikes inspected and helmets fitted properly. There will be lots of fun activities and a bike safety course to show off some budding skills. Book sales are coming back

The Friends of the Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library will be hosting a giant used book sale on June 8th and 9th. The event will be held at the library (425 Holland St. W.) on Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and on Sunday from 1 to 5 pm. 3:00 PM More details can be found at calendar.townofbwg.com.

Art on the terrace

Innisfil ideaLAB and the Lakeshore branch of the Library (971 Innisfil Beach Rd.) welcomes Sandycove Acres Art Club art on the Patio on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This is an opportunity to meet the club’s talented members and view a variety of work, both for pleasure and purchase. Huronia Hot Strings: Live in BWG

Enjoy an afternoon of ‘Jazz Manouche’ as popularized in 1940s Europe by Django Reihardt, Stéfan Grappelli and Hot Club De Paris. Information on the history and development of this exciting style of jazz will be provided by Huronia Hot Strings frontman Tom Malone. This is part of the Kool FM Barrie Jazz and Blues Festival.
