Leicester City talk to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and call Real Madrid in latest manager links

Two new candidates have emerged for the Leicester City job as the club continue their hunt for their next manager.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been spoken to by City, reports the Sun, and could offer him a way back into management. Solskjaer has been out of work since his three-year spell at Manchester United ended at the end of 2021.

The Norwegian had a highly scrutinized time in charge at Old Trafford, but they finished third and second in the Premier League in his two full seasons in charge, while they were a penalty shoot-out away from winning the Europa League.

Prior to City, Solskjaer was most recently linked with the managerial vacancy at Turkish giants Besiktas. However, they opted to appoint former Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The other new name is that of Davide Ancelotti, the son and right-hand man of Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid. Ancelotti junior has seen his reputation grow over the past two years for the tactical work he has done behind the scenes and on the touchline with his father.

Spanish publication Revelo say Davide Ancelotti’s signing has not gone unnoticed by City or French side Reims, with both clubs approaching Real Madrid to inquire about his availability. However, reports suggest they have been pushed back, with the 34-year-old keen to spend another year with the Champions League winners.
