Focus shifts to the mountains in search of Michael Mosley as temperatures expected to reach 31 degrees in Symi

The search for TV presenter Michael Mosley has shifted its focus to a mountain path after reviewing CCTV footage. Mosley, who went missing on Wednesday (June 5) while on holiday in Greece, is understood to have started walking the path at 2pm that day.

Police, firefighters, a drone, a helicopter and volunteers have been deployed to search for the 67-year-old presenter since he disappeared. The weather in Symi, where Mr Mosley disappeared, is set to hit 31C at midday.

Speaking to The Telegraph, one of the rescuers said: “The path is not easy to follow, if he took the wrong view he would be lost. It could be anywhere; it’s a race against time.”

Mosley is well known for his work on TV shows such as Trust me, I’m a doctor and MOTs This morning.

The island’s mayor also told the Mirror that the search for water had been suspended to focus on the 2 km of land between Pedi and Gialos.

The development comes just hours after new CCTV footage emerged showing Mr Mosley walking into Pedi at 1.50pm – 20 minutes after he left the beach on Wednesday.

A man with his likeness can be seen shielding himself from the heat with an umbrella while wearing the same clothes shown in the last known photo of him.

The search continues.
