Football legends to appear at Sheffield Euro 2024 fanpark

A host of football legends will make appearances at a Euro 2024 fanzone in Sheffield.

As we previously reported, the Sheffield attraction will be based at Devonshire Green this summer. Launched for this summer’s European Championships, Fan City will feature every England Euro 2024 match.




They have announced plans for a free entry event for the opening match between Scotland and Germany on Friday 14th June. The ‘Opening Ceremony’ on Devonshire Green will be complete with German and Scottish themes including German lager, Bratwurst, bagpipes and Buckfast. to kick off a month-long program of live football, music, laser-guided football experts from the legends.

For the big games in England, the organizers have booked a number of football legends, all with Sheffield links, to appear at the screenings.

You can see who is lined up below:

  • Sunday, June 16 – Chris Waddle and Tony Currie will appear at the England v Serbia screening
  • Thursday, June 20 – Danny Wilson will appear at the England v Denmark screening
  • Tuesday, June 25 – Viv Anderson will appear at the England v Slovenia screening

Chris Waddle said: “Fan villages like this are like a New Year’s Eve party. People just enjoy it, it’s a lot of fun and there’s a lot going on. If you love your football, you love a party, then why miss it?”

Fan City aims to give football fans the ultimate Euro 2024 party. England games will be free-to-air, while all non-England games will also be screened for free. The attraction will boast a food village serving a range of global street food, and thirsty fans will be able to choose from a selection of drinks from ice-cold beers to signature cocktails.
