Archie Gray’s transfer position from Leeds United has been revealed amid interest from the Premier League

Leeds United fans face an agonizing wait for the future of talented midfielder Archie Gray.

Despite being just 18, Gray played 52 times for the Whites last season, featuring heavily in positions such as defensive midfield, the number 10 role and even at right-back when called upon. It proved to be a disappointing end to the season for the Whites, narrowly missing out on promotion in the Championship play-off final.

With preparations already underway for next season, Leeds are looking to potentially offload some of their first-team stars given regulatory pressure on profitability and sustainability. With parachute payments and TV revenue down, Gray, Willy Gnonto, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville are among those cited with exits.

Tottenham Hotspur are just one of the clubs said to have a strong interest in Gray in the summer, with a possible swap deal for Joe Rodon cited as an option. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Leeds’ current situation, explaining that the 18-year-old has plenty of suitors.

“No decision has yet been made on Archie Gray’s future, it is crucial to see what Leeds United want to do.” Romano wrote in his latest weekly column. “There are several clubs that are watching him closely, not just one to mention. There is a strong interest in the player in England and Germany.”

Having developed as a youngster through the famed Thorp Arch academy, Gray is still under contract with United until 2028 and would need a hefty fee to lure him away from Elland Road. He has also been capped twice at England Under-21 level.
