Bruno Guimaraes happy at Newcastle United amid Arsenal and Manchester City links

Newcastle United have been given a major boost in their efforts to keep Bruno Guimaraes at the club amid interest from Arsenal and Manchester City.

Bruno Guimaraes has been a standout performer for Newcastle United since arriving at the club in the winter of 2022. His consistent performances for the Magpies have not gone unnoticed and there is no shortage of interest in his services.

Arsenal and Manchester City are both keen on him. They have been keeping a close eye on the Newcastle player amid their concerns about the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

While both English giants are ready to take any opportunity to sign the 26-year-old defensive midfielder, Guimaraes seems happy to continue at Newcastle.

Bruno Guimaraes on his future

During an interaction with the Brazilian media, the former Olympique Lyon star spoke about his future, he said via The Mirror: “Look, my future, to be honest, is in God’s hands.

“I have a contract with Newcastle, I’m very happy, like I said, I know how much they like me, I know everything I’ve done for the club. In short, I have a contract, I’m happy.

“I don’t know what can happen, we know all about Financial Fair Play, but what I can say is that I feel happy. Obviously, it’s very nice to be associated with big clubs; indicates that I’m doing well, but I’m not worried, like I said, I’m happy at the club.

“I’m very happy, so let’s see what happens. I’m not in a hurry, I’m happy and it’s up to God, let’s see what happens.”

The Magpies are not in the best financial situation and need to make some major sales to balance their books. Guimaraes is one of their best-selling assets, and his departure could solve quite a few problems for them.

Manchester City and Arsenal are keen on Guimaraes

City are keen to add to their squad as they feel he could play a pivotal role in their midfield. The Gunners are also looking to further strengthen their midfield after another failed attempt to wrest the league title from Guardiola’s side. They feel that Guimaraes could help them overcome this gap. Meanwhile, reports suggest the player prefers City to the Gunners.

While his departure could be a huge financial boost, the Magpies would prefer to keep him in their ranks. Although he has a £100m release clause that could see him leave, it is only active until the end of June. As a result, Newcastle hope to keep him available.

They have been given a boost in their attempts to keep him at the club as the player has suggested he is quite happy at the Tyneside club. He is in no rush to make a decision on his future and, under contract at Newcastle until 2028, appears keen to continue at the club despite interest from top clubs.
