The line-up for the 2024 Challenge Cup final between Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves has been revealed.

In a boost to sport and competition, the official attendance reached 64,845.

This is the biggest number since 2017 and comfortably beats the 58,213 posted for last year’s final between Leigh Leopards and Hull KR.

This year’s attendance was undoubtedly boosted by two of the game’s biggest clubs reaching the final, while Wakefield Trinity also brought a contingent for the 1895 Cup Final.

It was a positive day for sport, with a fitting tribute to the late Rob Burrow, the fans impeccably observing a minute’s silence before the game and then all standing to applaud in the seventh minute.

Wigan stole the day and took home the trophy, winning 18-8 in the day’s main event. That came after St Helens won the women’s title with a resounding 22-0 win over Leeds Rhinos.
