A Wigan Warriors victory parade will take place tonight after the club lifted the Challenge Cup for the 21st time yesterday.

The rugby team defeated rivals Warrington Wolves at Wembley by a memorable score of 18-8.

Afterwards, fans are invited to the Robin Park Arena to celebrate the famous victory with the players and staff,

Doors are set to open at 5pm for the ticketed event, with the team expected to return home at around 6.30pm.

Speaking after the game on the Wigan Warriors website, head coach Matt Peet said: “I’m proud of the players for their commitment.

“It’s never going to be the perfect game, but we talk a lot as a group about not chasing perfection and instead trusting each other.

“When you watch them play, there were times in the game when things went against them, but as a group they grew to it and almost seemed to enjoy it – that’s a strength of theirs.”
