Leeds United have a new minority investor under the 49ers this month, with Hollywood star Will Ferrell now part of the Whites’ investment structure.

While Leeds United may not be a Premier League name at the moment, their appeal across the globe remains stronger than most in the UK.

Combine that with the expertise of the 49ers after their takeover and Leeds are now much more of a strong commercial entity even in the EFL for now.

Will Ferrell joins Leeds’ under-49 investment arm

The final weekend of the Championship season brought exciting news that Leeds have another new celebrity investor at Elland Road.

The Sun originally reported that Hollywood star Will Ferrell was the latest to be proposed for a minority stake in the club.

Although “high stakes,” Ferrell won’t have any major say in the proceedings in Leeds, with the 49ers still in charge as always.

Simon Jordan shares his thoughts on Ferrell’s involvement in Leeds

TalkSPORT pundit and former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has now shared his verdict on the emerging news of Ferrell’s minority stake at Leeds.

Writing in his Daily Mail column, Jordan believes it can only be good news for Leeds to have such an icon on board:

“I don’t really see it as something sinister or worrying. As long as the identity of the football club is preserved, then having famous fans like Ferrell willing to invest is certainly a positive thing.

“In this age of digital content, famous football fans or investors help drive engagement and recognition, so if Ferrell runs across America as a shareholder in Leeds, the club will, as Wrexham has shown, be more visible. That can’t be a bad thing.”

Ferrell is a great attraction for Leeds this season

As a Championship club you would have thought our chances of growing commercially would have a considerable impact.

However, since the 49ers took over from Rădrizzani, the club has grown a lot in that sector.

Ferrell is the biggest coup on board, but there could easily be more if we get promoted soon.
