NEWPORT NEWS – Eugene “Gene” Elmer Clay, Jr., 60, of Newport News, died August 29, 2014. He was the son of the late Eugene Elmer Clay, Sr. and Marjorie Didlake Clay. Gene was a loving father, grandfather and friend. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kristie Melton, and her husband, Adam; grandchildren, Zackerey, Alexis and Haleigh and his former wife and loving friend, Rachelle Wade.
