Glastonbury Festival’s flagship performance channel launches tomorrow

A Glastonbury Festival channel featuring iconic acts from the past will be launched tomorrow. BBC iPlayer will start playing Clasic channel Glastonbury on Monday, June 10, with oldies but golds by everyone from Elton John to Kylie Minogue.

Perfect for the more nostalgic viewers, the channel will feature enlightening documentaries and compilations. Festival organizer Emily Eavis said: “We are incredibly proud of our ongoing partnership with the BBC and always look forward to hearing about the exciting developments in their coverage each year.




“I would like to thank Lorna Clarke, Alison Howe and their team for celebrating our festival so brilliantly and for sharing the special spirit of Glastonbury with an audience beyond these realms.”

This year will also see the unveiling of the Glastonbury II channel, which will play highlights of the 2024 festival from Friday 28 June. Another interesting channel is Pyramid Stage- Signed, where viewers will be able to watch stars such as Dua Lipa, Coldplay, Keane. , Cyndi Lauper, SZA and Shania Twain.

If Other Scene is more your cup of tea, the BBC will also have an Other Scene channel, West Holts, Woodsies and The Park.

The festival has announced a brand new venue. Terminal 1 consists of a “re-purposed airport that celebrates migration”. The poster says that in order to enter, UK citizens must answer a UKGOV citizenship test question correctly.

The BBC’s full schedule for Glastonbury coverage will be announced on Wednesday 12 June. You must have a TV license to watch BBC iPlayer.

Glastonbury Festival starts on Wednesday 26th June and ends on Sunday 30th June.
