Body found in search for missing Leeds United fan Allyn Grayson

A body has been found in the search for missing Leeds man Allyn Grayson.

Officers called off the search after a body, believed to be that of the 50-year-old man, was found just after 11.20am this morning (May 9) in a wooded area near Hunslet Road and the A61 in Rothwell.




Allyn Grayson was reported missing on Saturday, May 4, after leaving the Steam Boss in Park Row at around 5.30pm.

The Leeds United fan went to the pub with a friend after the Leeds vs Southampton match at Elland Road but left “brutally without explanation”, according to friends.

West Yorkshire Police described Allyn as 5ft 10in tall with short, shaggy hair. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black Hugo Boss jacket, green top, indigo jeans and white Diadora trainers with red and blue stripes.

Sadly, police released an update today (Thursday 9 May) to say a body had been found, the statement read: “Officers searching for missing Leeds man Allyn Grayson have found the body of a man.

“Police discovered the body in a wooded area near Hunslet Road and the A61 in Rothwell shortly after 11.20am this morning. Formal identification has not yet taken place but Mr Grayson’s family have been informed.”
