Leeds armed siege in footage as police continue to negotiate with man

Dramatic footage shows a siege unfolding on a quiet and unassuming street in Leeds as police continue to negotiate with a man.

Armed officers, an incident response unit, police officers and police dog handlers rushed to the scene in Half Mile Green on Sunday after receiving reports of a domestic incident. West Yorkshire Police said when they arrived at the scene they retreated when they saw a man at the address in possession of what appeared to be a handgun.

As of Sunday evening, officers were still negotiating with the man who could be seen talking to them from a first-floor window.

Passers-by and neighbors told of their shock at the scene, with one woman saying: “I’ve never seen anything like this before. There’s quite a lot of police here. I was just this is my way to go home and I was like ‘what’s going on’.

She said it was a shock and added that she felt “scared but curious” about what she saw.

Another woman passing by said, “What is all this? It’s never like that, it’s usually so quiet.” Read more here.
