Leeds will auction off a bucketload of Bielsa in a bid to keep the missing stars

Cash-strapped Leeds United are set to auction the bucket Marcelo Bielsa failed to secure promotion to the Premier League.

The All Whites’ Championship play-off final defeat to Southampton will have serious financial ramifications for the club who have missed out on £140m of Premier League money.

Former boss Bielsa sat on an overturned bucket on match days during his time at Elland Road, a symbol that has become synonymous with the Argentine manager.

And in a desperate bid to raise cash, the Yorkshire club have listed the bucket for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

An announcement on the social media site says:

‘For sale. Custom lined blue bucket complete with Leeds United club badges. 100 pounds ONO. It still smells like Bielsa’s ass. No weirdos, please.”

Other items listed for sale on the Facebook buy and sell platform include: a meet and greet with Bielsa’s translator Andres Clavijo; a buffet meal for two at Tomas Brolin’s favorite restaurant in Leeds and an original copy of Seth Johnson’s contract.

At the time of printing there were no offers for any of the above items.

In related news, a mystery figure has clearly pledged debts to Leeds United IF the club install him as their new chairman.

Known only by his initials PR, the figure claims to be a highly successful businessman in the Yorkshire area.

PR also claims to be an experienced football chairman who once took a club through three divisions in just six seasons.

“It would be a dream come true to be chairman of Leeds United. I would live the dream,” the PR told Paddy Power News.

“My aim would be to get the club into the Champions League and sign some of the best players in the world.”
