Rugby shirts and other memorabilia left in memory of Rob Burrow will form a permanent tribute to the Leeds Rhinos star, the club said.

The club said it would make a decision with Burrow’s family about how to use the shirts and other items.

All tributes will be photographed and put into a book, the children of which will go to the family, the club added.

Other copies of the book will be kept at the club’s stadium in Headingley, while a third will be housed in the new Rob Burrow Center for MND when it is completed.

The club said it was coordinating with the Burrow family on funeral details from early July and, while it will be a private event for family and friends, members of the public will also be able to pay their respects to Burrow, details of which would be published closer to the time.

Leeds Rhinos asked people to hold a moment of reflection at 6pm BST to remember Burrow, his family and others affected by MND, a week after his death was announced.

The flowers that took place at Saturday’s Challenge Cup final at Wembley have now been brought back to Leeds.

The club said people can visit the stadium for the next two weeks and the next home game will be a celebration of Burrow’s life.

Leeds Hospitals Charity has an online book of condolence for the public to sign and Leeds City Council is working with Rhinos on a major civic event following his funeral, details of which will be announced at a later date.
