Mom’s game-changing hack cuts ironing time in half and saves money

One mom shared a clever ironing trick she says cuts the chore in half. Gemma Bird, who is known for her money-saving tips, took to Instagram to demonstrate how she speeds up her ironing routine.

Gemma insists that this ingenious trick not only cuts down on ironing time, but also helps cut household bills. In an Instagram video, she showed how foil can be a solution to many people’s problems, Nottinghamshire Live reports.

In the video, she said: “I hate ironing. Plus it costs money and takes time. Get some tin foil. Take off the cover of the ironing board, wrap the plate in foil, replace the cover.”

Gemma continued: “You’ll only need to iron one side as the foil reflects the heat, taking care of the other side, saving you time and money on energy. Plus, if you’re like me and hate ironing, it’s a win win!”

Gemma’s hack is one that she said can be used over and over again. She said: (There is) no need to change the foil. You can keep the same time for months! Make sure you lay it smooth. And a good tip, pull the cap back to let it vent.”

The post on Gemma’s moneymumofficial account left many shocked and stunned – for all the right reasons. One said: “Oh wow. I have to try this.”

A second said: “Wow. What a game changer!”. A third claimed the hack was “clever”, while others labeled Gemma a “genius”.

Others have taken it a step further and even offered their own suggestions. One said: “I’ve learned a good tip. A hair dryer over creases the clothes. It did the other day. Or a dryer or steamer does the job too.”

A second agreed, saying: “I do this on holiday when I don’t have an iron. I wash all my clothes at night and in the morning they are dry, they are damp and I use the hair dryer. They are as good as ironed. .”
