OPP are reporting a fatal fire in Tillsonburg, Ontario

A fire has turned deadly in Tillsonburg, according to Ontario Provincial Police.

Officers were called to the John Pound Road home just before 1am on Saturday where firefighters were battling flames and heavy smoke.

OPP report one person was found in the front room and despite lifesaving efforts, was pronounced deceased.

Investigators have determined the cause of the fire and report that it is not suspicious.

Fire crews left the scene and police secured the property pending an investigation.
