Police swoop in after Ring doorbells film men trying door handles

A man has been arrested following several burglaries in the same area.

12 burglaries were reported in the Yew Tree area of ​​Liverpool.




Two of the incidents happened at addresses on Capricorn Crescent between 3am and 4.30am, where it was reported that two men were seen on doorbell footage trying the door handles of properties in the area.

The men were also reported to have entered an address on Crossford Road where they were found in the living room of the house. They were kicked out of the property and fled to another garden.

Two other attempted burglaries took place on Scorpio Drive, where it was again reported that two men were seen on doorbell footage trying the door handles of properties in the area.

Other attempted burglaries took place on Finch Lea Drive, Aries Close, Gemini Drive, Leo and East Prescot Road.

“We have increased patrols in the area to detect crime and inquiries are ongoing to keep our communities safe and find the remaining suspects.

“I would like to appeal to residents to check CCTV and doorbell footage to see if they have captured anything that could assist with our inquiries and to contact us so we can bring the offenders to justice. If you have any information, no matter how small or irrelevant you think it is, please pass it on to us as it could be what we need to identify them.”
