Young entrepreneur Sam Teale dedicates latest award to MND campaigner Rob Burrow

A young entrepreneur has dedicated his latest award to rugby league legend and motor neurone disease campaigner Rob Burrow.

Sam Teale, 21, founder of Kirklees-based Sam Teale Productions, won the Yorkshire Choice Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.

The award recognizes Sam’s outstanding contributions to the media industry, his company’s impactful and moving videography and his entrepreneurial spirit.

At the ceremony, Sam dedicated his win to former Leeds Rhinos star Rob Burrow, who had died just five days earlier. Sam and his team created a film about Rob, his family and his battle with MND.

The film, played during the ceremony, captured Rob’s inspiring journey and resilience and the unwavering support from his family.

In his acceptance speech, Sam described Rob as an “absolute legend” and added: “Rob Burrow was an incredible person who raised the profile of MND and helped countless people.”

Sam, from Cleckheaton, also thanked his team and said: “This award couldn’t happen without the best team in the world – Lydia, Ellie, Matthew and Taylor.

“We are so happy to celebrate our fourth birthday and continue to create the most emotional video content that touches hearts and inspires minds.

“Your support has been incredible and we can’t thank you enough for being a part of our journey. We’d also like to say a huge thank you to our amazing customers for trusting us day in and day out.”

Sam also recently brought home the highly regarded Prolific North Rising Star Award – and was so excited when his name was read out that he had a nosebleed!

“It was pretty funny,” Sam admitted.

Sam’s previous awards include: Independent Business of the Year at the Yorkshire Choice Awards 2023; Eaton Smith Business of the Month July 2023; Prolific North Creative Awards 2023: Video/TV/Film/Ad Long Form and Prolific North Creative Awards 2023: Advertising Campaign – Under £50,000.

The team are now preparing to launch the inaugural TV advert for Rock Face for Men, which takes place in Mirfield.

This new venture promises to be a significant milestone for the company, showcasing its creative capabilities and innovative approach to media production.

Sam has wanted to make videos since he was a teenager at school and wants to share his passion for business with young people and inspire them to follow their dreams.

Sam would like to speak at as many local schools as possible and is free of charge.
