Helder Costa will join the new club eight months after leaving

Leeds United released Helder Costa in October 2023 and now the Record claim he will join Vitoria de Guimaraes (via Sport Witness).

Leeds United endured almost the entire 2023/24 campaign without winger Costa in the running.

He never made a competitive appearance for Daniel Farke and was not involved in any of the Whites’ matchday squads before departing Elland Road by mutual consent at the start of October.

It would have been hoped that the Angolan international could quickly secure a new club following his release, but months and months have passed with Costa remaining a free agent.

Now, however, it looks like that will finally change.

According to Portuguese news outlet Record, Portuguese League side Vitoria de Guimaraes are set to sign the former Leeds United man on a free transfer. It adds that Costa remains open to offers from outside Portugal, but there could be a move to Vitoria.
