Three-bed cottage in ‘sought-after village’ for sale for £320,000 – but there’s a problem

A three-bedroom cottage in a desirable West Midlands village has gone up for public auction. However, the ‘period property’ in Wolverley, Kidderminster isn’t quite ready to receive new furniture; it requires a “complete renovation back to the brick”.

The sale falls to Eden Midcalf, Bewdley, and comes with a price tag of £320,000. It will be sold in a modern auction method with early closing bids until 2pm on 9 May 2024.

The agents are honest about the level of work required: “Requiring full brick refurbishment, this three bedroom property is situated in the sought after village of Wolverley.”

Upon eventual completion of some extensive renovations, the house could turn out to be quite spectacular. With its three bedrooms, kitchen, spacious lounge/diner, downstairs WC and first floor bathroom, there is plenty of space to create something special.

The large garage incorporates a converted roof space and outside is a garden courtyard and parking area.

Pictures of the property show a lush garden, a skip sitting in the driveway and the dated and empty rooms inside. However, for those looking for a quieter life, this house could be perfect – set in a small village of just 2,000 people, with two pubs and a tea room.
