Good luck to Leeds Rowing Club at the National Schools Regatta

Leeds Rowing Club put in an outstanding showing at the National Schools Regatta at Dorney Lake in Berkshire. The National Schools Regatta is the UK’s premier schools/junior rowing event, attended by thousands of children.

The Leeds Junior Rowing Academy program had their most successful national performance to date, with the club’s crews making their presence known and making fantastic progress with three A finals including a bronze medal, two B finals, one C and one D final .This performance put Leeds firmly on the map as one of the leading junior rowing programs in Yorkshire.

J14 Boys Quad Scull: The J14 Boys Quad Scull won first place in the B Final, a testament to their dedication and hard work.

J14 Girls Oct Scull: The J14 girls octuple scull narrowly missed out on a podium, securing fourth place in the A final by just 0.5 seconds. Their performance was a highlight of Day 1 of the regatta.

J15 Boys coxed Four: The J15 boys coxed four provided an exciting race, leading 1800 meters before finishing fourth in the A final. Their effort was commendable, showing they were a force to be reckoned with.

J16 Boys Coxed Four: Competing in the D final, the J16 Boys Coxed Four achieved fourth place, bringing skill and focus to the race.

2nd J16 Girls Coxless Quad Scull: The J16 Girls Coxless Quad Scull put in a stellar performance, securing third place in the A final and proudly taking home bronze medals.

J16 Girls Coxless Quad Scull: They also performed admirably, finishing third in the B final, holding out for the entire 2000m, giving their competitors little chance of overtaking.

Championship Coxless Quad Scull: The championship boys’ coxless quad finished eighth in the C final, showing great effort in a highly competitive field.

Leeds Rowing Club’s achievements at the National Schools Regatta are a testament to the hard work of the athletes and the expert guidance of Head Coach Rob Mackenzie. The results reflect the club’s commitment to excellence and bright futures for these young rowers. Their performances not only bring pride to the club but also inspire future rowers to strive for greatness.
