Zach Eckersley reflected on Wigan’s Betfred Challenge Cup final win over Warrington.

Wigan scored three tries to one against Wolves at Wembley Stadium on Saturday afternoon to lift the Betfred Challenge Cup trophy for the 21st time. Speaking at full-time, Eckersley said: “It was a tough game and Warrington came to play. We started well, as we always talk about doing, we dug in there until the end, we worked hard for each other and we won in the end, so that was really good.”

Eckersley scored the opening try after receiving a kick from Bevan French: “I didn’t think about scoring, I just wanted to do my job for the team and the main focus was just to win the game but to get a try . the top of the win was an added bonus. I enjoyed every moment of it, I just loved every second of it.”
