Leeds Rhinos captain Caitlin Beevers suffered horrific facial injury after image posted online – Total Rugby League

Everyone knows rugby league players are tough.

However, every now and then an injury comes along that makes people cringe at the obvious pain a player had to go through after sustaining it.

One such player is Leeds Rhinos women’s captain Caitlin Beevers, who took a nasty knock to the eye in her side’s 22-0 Challenge Cup final defeat to St Helens on Saturday afternoon.

She uploaded a photo to her Instagram story after that defeat with the caption: “Play rugby they said.”

Alongside the injury, Beevers also posted on Instagram: “08/06/2024 Wembley Challenge Cup Final🏟️

“Yesterday was not our day. I am proud of the team and we are learning from this opportunity. We have a special group here and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish for the rest of the 2024 season. Forever grateful to be a Rhino🦏💙💛

“Thank you for all the support and messages of concern about my eye. I’m fine and in the best hands with our medical team😁.”
