A Coventry woman dies after falling from a high-rise tower block

A woman has died after falling from a high-rise tower block in Coventry. It happened on Caradoc Close yesterday afternoon (Sunday June 9).

Police were called to Caradoc Hall in Henley Green at around 4.30pm. Paramedics and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance also attended.



Doctors found a 70-year-old woman in cardiac arrest after falling from Casa Caradoc. She received treatment at the scene but nothing could be done to save her and she was pronounced dead, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

Officers are investigating how the woman died, but her death is not currently being treated as suspicious, West Midlands Police said. Her family has been informed and is being supported.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “A woman in her 70s has died after falling from a high-rise flat in Coventry. We were called yesterday (Sunday June 9) at around 4.30pm to the Caradoc Hall, Caradoc Close.

“The lady was treated at the scene, but unfortunately nothing could be done for her. We are currently investigating the circumstances but believe her death is not suspicious. Her family have been informed and we offer them all our support during this difficult time.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to Caradoc Close in Coventry at 4.23pm on Sunday (June 9). Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended. Crews arrived to find a woman in cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead.”
