Liverpool learn new Real Madrid stance on Rodrygo deal as Arsenal join £27m transfer battle

Transfer rumors continue to swirl ahead of potential business for Liverpool this summer.

According to De Telegraaf, Liverpool remain in the race to sign Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida. The report states that the Reds still face competition from Tottenham Hotspur and adds that Arsenal have now entered the fray.

It has been claimed that Feyenoord are preparing for Geertruida to leave the Eredivisie club this summer and one of the aforementioned trio – which includes Liverpool – is expected to make a move. The report claims Geertruida, whose contract expires in 2025, is valued by Feyenoord at around €32m (£27m).

Elsewhere, Liverpool are once again linked with a move for Real Madrid star Rodrygo. The Brazilian recently helped the La Liga giants win the Champions League with a final win over Borussia Dortmund.

According to Spanish news outlet Nacional, Liverpool are looking to take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding Rodrygo’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. The report states that with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, the chances of Rodrygo leaving the club have now increased.

It has been claimed that Madrid would allow Rodrygo to leave the club if he expressed his desire to do so. A price has reportedly been put on Rodrygo’s head, but the report says Liverpool would have to pay a fee of over €100m (£84m) to sign the Brazilian this summer.
