Over 117,000 people attended this year’s Royal Cornwall Show.

Last week saw the return of the annual event, just outside Wadebridge, which received an incredible attendance of 117,447 over the three days.

Organizers say it’s great to see the show being supported by so many people despite the tough times and work has already started on next year’s show.

Show Secretary Chris Riddle said: “We are delighted to see that this year’s turnout is once again very strong and well short of our target of 120,000. We are only too aware of how difficult it has been for many households over the last few years so it is fantastic to see the Show being supported by local people in this way, I know it means a lot to the traders at the show and to the families who compete here.

“The success of the show would not be possible without the support of those who visit, compete and trade at the show, as well as everyone who helps make the event possible, including our contractors, staff and judges and stewards.”

The weather held up well for the vast majority of the three days, just a very brief shower on Saturday afternoon, otherwise the event was sunny.

It was also an emotional farewell to show secretary Chris Riddle and his wife Thelma, celebrating his last show at the helm after 35 years in the role. Over 100 administrators and staff, past and present, formed a guard of honor in the Main Ring as a very thoughtful letter written by HRH The Duke of Cornwall was read out by Colonel Sir Edward Bolitho.

Music and entertainment buzzed the boulevards, with several live sound stages and walking entertainment on the Showground. All in all, there was a real sense of Cornwall coming together to socialize and celebrate.

Preparations have already begun for the 2025 Salon, which will take place on June 5, 6 and 7.
