Woman, 34, dies in single car crash at Caterham roundabout

A woman has died after a single car crash at a roundabout in Caterham.

At around 3am on Sunday (June 9), officers were called to the Buxton Lane roundabout, Ninehams Road and Salmons Lane West.

The accident involved a gray Mercedes E220.

A 34-year-old woman died at the scene, and a man and another 30-year-old woman were injured and taken to hospital.

The other woman is in life-threatening condition.

Their next of kin have been informed.

A man described as white, 30-40 years old and stocky left the scene.

He is believed to be wearing a white T-shirt and carrying a man’s bag.

Road closures are in place on the roundabout to allow emergency services to investigate.

Surrey Police have asked motorists to avoid the area and say roads will be reopened as soon as possible.

An appeal for witnesses has been launched for the man described.
