Suspicious live clam found on Cornwall beach

A suspected explosive shell has been found on a beach in Cornwall.

St Agnes coastguards said they were alerted by lifeguards at Trevaunance Cove, near St Agnes, on Sunday.

A military explosive ordnance disposal team has been alerted and the object will be assessed “in due course”, the coastguard said.

A cordon has been set up around the discovery site.
