However, they will face competition from Brentford in the race to secure the 22-year-old’s signature, reports report. The mirror.

The slot is said to be responsible for making a decision on the future of the Reds’ fringe stars, although Van den Berg’s recent comments have helped push him closer to an Anfield exit – slamming the club for paying him a 20 million pounds. heading into the summer transfer window.

He recently told De Telegraaf: “(Liverpool) have not exuded confidence in me all this time, but you want to prevent my future. I want to keep playing every week and keep developing. In Germany I enjoy Dortmund away with 70,000 people, Bayern Munich away against Harry Kane, Stuttgart, Leipzig, Leverkusen, against such clubs I am challenged every week.”

Liverpool are expected to bring in defensive reinforcements, which would have given Van den Berg another opportunity to prove his worth on Merseyside. However, with their hearts seemingly elsewhere, the Reds may use the defender to raise funds for new signings.
