Meghan Markle lands in the UK for a shock meeting with Prince Harry

Meghan Markle made a surprise visit to Britain for a brief reunion with Prince Harry before embarking on a three-day trip to Nigeria. The Duchess of Sussex landed at Heathrow Airport where she was seen waiting for her husband in the VIP Windsor Suite. The unexpected meeting comes after the Duke attended an Invictus Games ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral in London, during which he missed his father, King Charles, who was attending a garden party at Buckingham Palace just a few miles away.

The royal couple then boarded a British Airways overnight flight to Abuja, although their departure was delayed due to the illness of their scheduled pilot, necessitating a replacement. The Sussexes’ decision to visit Nigeria has drawn criticism from Dai Davies, a former head of royal security, who finds it odd that the Duke frequently cites security concerns about visiting the UK but plans to travel to one of the most dangerous countries in the world.

While in Nigeria, Meghan and Harry plan to attend a volleyball match and visit military hospitals and charities in Abuja and Lagos. Their itinerary, as revealed by the Defense Command during a press conference on Thursday, May 9, also includes scheduled meetings with injured armed forces personnel and their families, Express reports.
