Jude Bellingham jokes with Aston Villa fans at England’s Euro 2024 elimination

Jude Bellingham shared a lighthearted joke with an Aston Villa group as he and his England teammates began their trip to Germany for this summer’s European Championships.

Fresh from winning the Champions League with Real Madrid, the 20-year-old has linked up with Gareth Southgate’s side, hoping to go one better than their previous chance at the tournament. Following the friendlies with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland, the Three Lions started from St. George’s Park on Monday.

Their coach’s departure was streamed live on the national football team’s social media accounts, showing the players being cheered on by fans of all ages. Some were even lucky enough to have memorabilia signed by players like Bellingham.

The midfielder was in the middle of signing England shirts to a group of young fans when presenter Josh Denzel told him they were actually Villa supporters. In response, the Birmingham academy product joked: “You’re kidding, I’m sorry I’ve signed them now!”

With a smile, he continued to greet supporters at the national team’s base near Burton. “Very excited, I’m looking forward to it. We sent here and hopefully we can make them proud,” he added before taking his seat on the team coach to the airport.

It was just the latest in a busy day for Southgate’s side, which included a personal send-off from Prince William. The Prince of Wales presented each member of the team with their shirts and gave his own speech.
