Man charged with murder after 2016 stabbing victim dies six years later

A man has been charged with the murder of 22-year-old Jamel Boyce, who died six years after he was attacked in south-west London.

Tyrese Osei-Kofi, 24, of no fixed address, is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on December 27.

Mr. Boycethen aged 17, was stabbed in a fight outside a Sainsbury’s supermarket in Clapham on 14 October 2016.

The victim suffered severe brain damage from lack of oxygen after being injured in the attack.

He was left blind, paralyzed and unable to speak.

On February 13 last year, Mr Boyce died aged 22 at a care home in Streatham Hill, south London, as a result of his injuries.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death to be a penetrating chest injury.

After his death, the police opened a murder investigation.

A man was previously jailed for grievous bodily harm over the stabbing.
