Nuneaton 2024 Carnival organizers say ‘wow’ after thousands turn out for procession

Thousands of people lined the streets to watch Nuneaton’s Carnival 2024 as a procession of color made its way through the town. Although the weather wasn’t as warm as last year’s event, the sun still shone on the city and brought out people in their thousands.

This is evident from the fact that just over £4,500 was donated on the day and this money will now be donated to the charity People in Action.

In what was a surprise, the ‘Around the World’ themed event began with the roar of motorbikes as members of local cycling groups kicked off the much-anticipated procession down Avenue Road, which included almost a dozen floats, rides and vehicles.

Charlotte Aspley, carnival chair, spoke of her pride in the turnout and success of Sunday’s event. “What an absolutely fantastic day, it was so lovely to see so many happy faces in the crowd,” she said.

“The gala field was full of people from start to finish. I am so grateful to all the people who made the effort to attend the carnival this year, whether it was in the procession or on the gala grounds.

“The turnout of all the people on the streets was superb and the atmosphere boosted us along the route.”
